Their bodies are moulded in gold laden costumes
Their high tiaras are of gold set with precious stone
It takes hours to put them on
They stand so tall and proud for their country
Such beauty and majesty, we stand still for the king
When the music plays

In December 2019, Erased Tapes artists Midori Hirano, Douglas Dare, Hatis Noit, Daniel Brandt and Rival Consoles travelled to Thailand, commissioned to re-interpret the sounds of Bangkok's most iconic spaces as new original compositions, to then be performed live on stage at Wonderfruit Festival. The project was initiated in collaboration with MSCTY's Nick Luscombe and James Greer, and the resulting pieces highlight how much sonic richness this sweltering, urban organ has to explore. For the past four years, these pieces were exclusively accessible to only those who visited these sites with a pair of headphones and the official project app, until now.
“It’s very exciting to finally be able to share these pieces with the world. Quite some time has passed since we embarked on this label excursion to generate site-specific works, and the world has changed in many ways. Which only makes one appreciate these recordings even more, as they allow us to take our listeners on a truly unique sonic journey to a place that we’ll never forget.” — Robert Raths, Erased Tapes
“Featuring field recordings made at the 5 locations we explored with our friends at Erased Tapes, Bangkok Memory Phase takes a sideways cross-sectional glance at the city through its organic sound. Founded by sonic architect and explorer Robert Raths aka ghostworker in 2007, Erased Tapes is a truly independent record
label that has disrupted the industry and rejuvenated the musical landscape. The London-based label has consistently nurtured genre-defying artists from all around the world without losing its avant-garde ethos....more
